Year-End High Point Award Program

The North Florida Arabian Horse Club year-end high point awards are open to all members in good standing. The following divisions for ARABIAN AND NON-ARABIAN awards will be eligible toward year-end high point awards: Open Shows, Dressage - USDF recognized, Dressage - Schooling, Competitive Trail, and Endurance.  A copy of the show bill MUST be included with the form.  Dressage score sheets MUST be included with the Dressage Points.  OVER ALL HIGH POINTS DO NOT COUNT AS POINTS.  Points are counted for Classes Only.  The 4-H Points are counted for placements 1 through 6 only.

Criteria for eligibility is as follows:

 

  • Calculations are based on 1-rider/1-horse combination from December 1st to November 30th. The rider/handler must be a member in good standing of North Florida Arabian Horse Club. Only points earned after membership dues are paid in full will be counted toward year-end high point awards.
  • Junior riders (17 years of age or under as of January 1st of the competitive year) are eligible to compete for awards in all categories.  Show bills and/or Dressage Score sheets must be included with the High Point Form.
  • The year-end Arabian high point awards are open to purebred Arabians, Half-Arabians, and National Show Horses. A copy of registration papers for the eligible horse must be on file with the points chairman.
  • The year-end non-Arabian high point awards are open to horses of any breed, registered or otherwise, who earn points in the applicable categories. Registration papers are not required.  But show bills and/or Dressage Score Sheets must be included with the High Point Form.
  • Results must be submitted Year-End High Point Calculation Form and postmarked or received by the points chairman within 30 days of the event

Guidelines for NFAHC Year-End High Point Awards

Rated & Open Shows

1st place  = 6 points
2nd place = 5 points
3rd place = 4 points

4th place = 3 points
5th place = 2
6th place = 1 point

* Championship classes will use same scoring as above.

 Dressage (Schooling)

The 5 highest scores from at least 3 different shows under 3 different judges will be averaged. A copy of the front page of the test scores must be submitted. Combined training dressage tests are acceptable. Coefficients per level ridden:
Intro = 1.0      TL = 1.02      1L = 1.04      2L = 1.06
3L = 1.08       4L = 1.09       4L = 1.09      Above 4L = 1.10

 Competitive Trail

Score X Mileage divided by 100. If more than one ride, scores are averaged. For Grand Champion, add 10 points to score; for Reserve Champion, add 5 points to score.
